Objective: To determine the symptoms of stress and psychotropic use as a consequence of COVID 19 due to the confinement of university students in a private university. Huancayo - 2022. Material and Methods: The research is descriptive, with a non-experimental and transversal design. Population: students enrolled in the 2022 - II cycle of the Professional School of Pharmacy and Biochemistry. Sample: 230 students. Results: The sociodemographic relationship with the stress symptoms found is predominantly female, the predominant age is over 24 years. The frequency of consumption of antidepressants is once a month consumed in 6.5%. In terms of prescription by a physician, antidepressants were found with 3.9% and benzodiazepines with 4.5%. The consumption of antidepressants was 10.3% and benzodiazepines 8.4%. The symptoms of stress and use of psychotropic drugs as a result of COVID 19, the level of mild stress was found according to the Baremos test. And finally, for the dimensions of physical symptoms, pathological symptoms and compartmental symptoms, 2.18, 2.02 and 1.76 were found, corresponding to the level of mild stress. Conclusion: Symptoms of mild stress and psychotropic use were found as a consequence of COVID 19 due to the confinement of university students in a private university. Huancayo. Franklin Roosevelt.
