Ethics in research

The Visionarios en Ciencia y Tecnología journal is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards throughout all stages of the scientific publication process. In alignment with international guidelines established by leading organizations such as the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), Visionarios en Ciencia y Tecnología journal  has adopted rigorous policies and procedures. These guidelines apply to authors, editors, and peer reviewers alike, aiming to ensure the quality, validity, and transparency of all published research articles.

Informed Consent and Privacy Protection

All research involving human subjects must obtain informed consent from participants (or from parents/legal guardians in the case of minors), which must be explicitly stated within the manuscript.

Where applicable, authors must specify the considerations taken for adult participants who lack the capacity to provide informed consent (refer to Guideline 16 of the CIOMS-WHO International Ethical Guidelines).

Furthermore, every precaution must be taken to protect the privacy and confidentiality of research subjects. Consequently, any details that might reveal their identity—such as names, initials, identification numbers (DNI/ID), dates of birth, or any other personal information—must be strictly omitted.
