Abstract

Objective: To design and validate a reliable instrument to measure the physicochemical and mental effects of motorcycle use in university students. Material and Methods: The study was of a basic type with a correlational design, with a sample of 143 students from three different universities: Universidad Tecnológica del Perú, Universidad Privada de Huancayo Franklin Roosevelt, and Universidad Continental, belonging to various areas such as Administration and Economics, Health Sciences, Humanities, and Engineering and Technology. Results: The results show a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.927 and McDonald's Omega of 0.932, demonstrating consistency and reliability. Conclusions: The correlation of elements in the scale showed high coherence in perceptions related to mental well-being, while physical components exhibited lower correlations. The moderate standard deviation in responses suggests variability in the magnitude of perceived effects, highlighting the importance of individual factors in perceptions about the effects of motorcycle riding.
