Abstract

Objective: To determine the occlusal relationships through the terminal planes and the most prevalent canine relationship in the complete deciduous dentition in children from metropolitan Huancayo. Material and Methods: Basic descriptive design study, frequency tables and percentages were made for comparison. Results: The most prevalent terminal plane was the mesial step on both the right and left side (52.2% and 50.7%), the straight terminal plane for the right side was 43.0% and 44.6% left; the distal step for both sides was 4.7%; the most prevalent canine relationship was class I on the right side was 84.7% and left 80.4%; class II for the right side 11.6% and left 16.2% and class III right 3.7% and 3.4 for the left side. Conclusions: The most prevalent terminal plane was the mesial step, followed by the straight terminal plane and with low prevalence the distal step; by gender, the male has a slightly higher frequency in the mesial terminal plane; the most prevalent canine relationship was class I, followed by class II and finally class III.
